Fire shutters – Measure the height and width of your window in three places, using the largest of the three when buying your shutters. If you install gaps that only cover half the window, stay at the end point when measuring the height. For width, measure for outer frame windows on the outside frame on the other side.
Purchase hatches, either custom-made or curable. If you need to trim the gaps, use a saw or flight and follow all manufacturer’s instructions. Look at the package fire shutters before buying and cutting to see if you need to add an inch on all sides to accommodate the hanging or trellises that you will install.

Install wood or hanging strips on the wall using a drill and screws. Wooden or hanging strips should lie against the window frame. Be sure there are no threads in your walls where you will drill, especially if you have a socket near the window. You should consider hearing an electrician and at least turning off electricity before drilling in the wall. Hold up your shutter to the hanging strap and the mark where the boreholes are for the hinges. Way ends down and drill pilot projects holes. Move your fire shutters and tighten it, making sure it is safe. Use a thin piece of wood along the windows to help you in this step, so you do not need to install window shutters that concern the threshold.Tag: fire shutters for windows
