Determine if you want to mount your 2-inch wooden shutter blinds inside the window frame or out on the frame itself. Inside mounted blinds need not less than 3½ inches of window mounting area to be fully aligned with the windowsill. However, the 2-inch faux wood can be mounted if the window has at least 1¾ inches of mounting space, but protrudes from the window frame. Measure the inside of the window frame to determine which option works best.
Use a pen to mark where each console should be placed. For inside mounting, place one of the brackets inside the frame at the desired location and place a dot inside each screw hole. Hold the console up to the line and mark through the screw holes to show where the console will be installed.
